Northern Moraine Wastewater Reclamation District

The District’s treatment plant has been in operation since 1978 and operates under the State of Illinois’ Sanitary District Act of 1917. Today we provide sanitary sewer service and wastewater treatment to more than 15,000 people across Lakemoor, Port Barrington, Island Lake, and Holiday Hills. We operate and maintain 24 pump stations, 80 miles of sanitary sewer mains and the 36-acre Water Resource Recovery Facility site with a design average capacity of 2 million gallons per day.

NOTICE: The District is currently working on a Facility Plan Update and a review of Efficiencies and Operations. A Decennial Committee will include representatives from the District and the Villages that we service. Among many things, the Committee will review the District’s rate structure and charges. Meetings will begin in September.
